FAQs

Why do I need a private counselor if there is one at my child’s school?

High school college counselors have a large caseload of students and often only meet a couple time with each student. Hiring private assistance allows time to fully understand the best way to present a student to colleges as well as one on one step by step help throughout the admissions process.

When should a student begin meeting?

The earlier the better! The application process can be overwhelming. It is helpful to have assistance along the way with building a well-rounded activities list, seeking resume building opportunities, and double checking course loads are competitive.

Where are you located?

I meet with clients at their homes or virtually.

My child has an IEP, do you have experience with colleges that have support programs for them?

As the support system for a child with an IEP, you are familiar with advocating for your student. The college admissions process is no different and almost always has addition paperwork in the form of applications, essays, and recommendations. I have assisted with these forms before and can help with this process.
